We feel the exact same way about Hungry Mother. It is our favorite Virginia state park. We stayed in the cabins before RV days and they are wonderful. I take it you are not there now but I sure would have loved having you two as my camp hosts. If you return and haven’t seen anything at the Barter Theater, for sure make the trip several times to see anything and everything they have. Amazingly good theater!!

What a cool sounding area. We have yet to spend any real time out east but it certainly sounds like a place we would enjoy.

What a beautiful read! I’m kind of sad when each story ends. I want to keep reading more! I absolutely LOVE the way you both write. Takes me back in time to the good ‘ol days. Wishing you two butterflies all the very best life has to offer! We look forward to the day when our paths cross again. Safe travels and big ‘ol Texas hugs!

The park sounds awesome…although I’m sure you made it awesome for all those visiting!! Looking forward to catching up on your wonkamping experiences!!

  5. Must say that Hungry Mother got the best Andy and Helen Crump Taylor to tend to the needs of their Mayberry in the Woods!!! What a fun read and I felt like I could smell the bacon with you:o)) So glad you had a good experience and hope the “dark side” wasn’t too dark!! One thing we have notice about work camping…it doesn’t take long for you to take ownership of the park…yes, it quickly becomes your home and you want everyone to love it as much as you do!!! Keep lovin’ life Mr. and Mrs. Taylor:o)))

    • Thank you Nancy and Bill. You are so right about the feeling of taking ownership. Within 24 hours, it felt like we were back in Butterfly Hollow and were the warm greeting welcoming guests to our home/B&B. Loved the feeling but it also felt so good to be a part of something bigger than us. I did ask to borrow the leaf blower (thinking of Bill) the start of the second week…. and never gave it back. May our trails cross again soon.

Oh, my. This is SO close to us and SO beautiful. You may want to visit Grayson Highlands, VA. It is lovely, too.

    • Yes Jane, Grayson felt like another world. We hiked there and fell in love with the vistas and the amazing views… and of course the wild ponies. I didn’t realize you lived so close. Sure would have loved to see you both!!!
