What a great story – I would love to learn to ride someday! Horses are such majestic creatures! I agree with Debbie – I think a CD is needed!

Gosh I LOVE that song! You really need to get a CD out there! The story was beautiful. Where is Ace now?

What a great story..I felt like I was there with you. Lee went riding in Vegas last year and got thrown. ThAnkfully it wasn’t into the cactus but instead the sand. He cracked a couple of ribs and they took forever to heal. I totally understand how easy it is to forget they are really big animals. The connection is real but sometimes they want what they want.

    • So true Tracy. Even the most whispering riders learn one way or the other that they are sitting upon a 1000 pound animal designed from the beginning to run, kick, and buck from danger.

You tale brought back memories of training our own horses. A gentle touch goes a lot further than a stick or whip, that’s for sure! We had a horse that loved to kick and laydown when he was in the water. As soon as he started pawing the water with his front feet you better jump off as he was about to go down!

Riding with Larry was a highlight of my life. I still think of him whenever I see a paint.
