Thank you for a great post about my beautiful home state! Lived here all of my life and have traveled from one end to the other, and one day plan on doing it all over again! If (when) you come back be sure to check out the Porcupine Mountains in the Upper Peninsula! Stunning sight to see!

Thank you Jeanette! There were just so many wonderful places to see in Michigan that we knew we’d need to return again and again. We’ll put the Porcupine Mountains on the map for the next visit.

I went to grade school and started high school in Detroit, and I went to a summer camp in Roscommon, on Higgins Lake. I didn’t think I’d ever get Red to come to the state since all he could think of was Detroit. When we found Ludington, we both fell in love with the area! We already have our reservations for next summer….just can’t get enough of Lake Michigan, it’s just so beautiful, and the people here are awesome!

    • Sharon Rasmussen says:

Yes, Pam! Lake Michigan is beautiful. We drove up to Ludington and would love to stay there next time through.

Nancy, when you and Bill put Michigan on your radar for the summer, we’d love to come along and experience it with you. See you in Florida. 🙂

What an AMAZING summer!!! We can’t wait to take our turn at Michigan:o)) You certainly were able to partake in one of the great treasures of this lifestyle…meeting friends along the way. Bill said he is “All In” on that tomato tasting;o)) I say…”EVERY picture you share is fantastic!!” Thanks for such a wonderful recap…See You Down The Road!!!

What a fabulous post of your summer. I need to take some lessons on how to do it simply. Seems you have friends at every stop. We sure enjoyed our time with you and feel the same way you do about Mich-again. We’ve done it three times and spent a month or more each time and still could return and return. I think you missed Travers City and the Grand Traverse Pie Company.

    • Sharon Rasmussen says:

Sherry, well that settles it! We missed the pie company, so we HAVE to come back. We loved our time spent with you and David. You two always continue to inspire those you meet.

  8. Oooh an heirloom tomato tasting contest. Mi am super jealous and what a fun thing to do. Ok I am from Ohio and raised from birth to dislike Michigan but I have to say your description actually makes me want to go there. 😇

When you change your mind about liking Michigan once you have visited the U.P., we won’t tell anybody. 🙂

The U.P is on our agenda for next summer but I think we will be there in May or June, the peak of mosquito season!
