Absolutely LOVED your story…it is told so well….David you are a poet. Your story is such a gift for those who have not yet visited and makes those of us who are planning the visit even more eager to get there. Thanks for the sentiments and the music playing in my head.

Glad to hear from you. We thought you might have gotten lost in time. We just loved Mackinac Island and had the same response after seeing somewhere in time. I don’t remember where we stayed but it was expensive and I really wished we could have stayed a week or two. It’s such a lovely pace and the lack of cars really makes me feel much more relaxed. Great post!

    • Yes Sherry, we have been lost in time… and in the UP lost without cell and a few other conveniences. We’ve begun our southern migration now and still can’t get over our wonderful experience in Michigan and along the great lakes. Thank you for sharing your stories and blogs, which helped us plan and route our trip to this wonderland.
